The WORLD CHESS CHAMPION
Bulgaria's chess master Vesselin Topalov , born on March 15, 1975 in Ruse, Bulgaria, became the New World Chess Champion by winning the FIDE World Chess Championship in 2005.
Topalov was taught to play chess when he was eight years old by his father. In 1989 he won the World Under 14 Championship in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. In 2006, after beating legendry Gary Kasparov at Linares and a group of top 6 chess players, Veselin Topalov won the biggest chess tournament in Europe “M-tel Masters” for the second consecutive year.
